Victorian Walled Gardens at Kylemore Abbey

One mile west of the main Abbey building are the 6-acre Victorian Walled Gardens, built by Mitchell Henry at the same time as the construction of Kylemore Castle. Only plants and vegetables which grew in Victorian times are grown in the garden today.

    Magnifiche, come sempre. Ma cosa c’è oltre quella porta?

      Oltre la porta di destra, che e’ quella che vedi nell’ultima foto, c’e’ la Oak Plantation creata dallo stesso Mitchell Henry che poi pianto’ oltre 300.000 alberi in Kylemore.
      Oltre la porta di sinistra invece c’e’ tutto il resto del parco che con un percorso di un’ora, un’ora e mezza (on foot) ti riporta al castello.

    Un uomo che pianta 300.000 alberi entra direttamente nel mio pantheon degli eroi!
